Senior SME Risk Manager (f/m/x)
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Country Retail Risk Manager who manages the credit life cycle of the segment Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) in selected Networks Bank.
SME Risk Management is responsible for the management and governance of both Micro and SE Credit Portfolios from inception till repayment in line with the Group’s risk-taking capacity and profitability targets. SME Risk Management is responsible for supervising and implementing relevant segment standards in application processing & underwriting, analytics & portfolio management, customer relationship management and collections/workout in the NWBs’ practice. SME Risk Management is the first contact for all NWBs with regard to SME risk management related issues and activities.

Your mission at RBI
- Develop the retail credit risk culture, identify current and potential problems regarding the assessment of credit risk and key operational aspects of SME credit exposures in order to ensure prudent credit lending
- Support the NWBs in product development/management, underwriting, portfolio management and collections/workout activities
- Support the NWBs to increase standardization, automation and digitalisation of credit risk processes
- Manage individual SME portfolio performance as it relates to credit effectiveness and productivity (incl. budgeting and forecasting)
- Actively manage SME lending portfolios in selected NWB by analysing, tracking, monitoring budget/portfolio level triggers
- Support the development and approval process in RBI of SME Credit Policy Papers to ensure that the NWBs’ lending policies conform to prudent risk management practices
- Conduct regular on-site visits to the Network Banks to support performance objectives on both day-to-day and individually assigned tasks and responsibilities
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to leverage digital technologies for more efficient and effective credit risk management
- Actively participate in Group/regional-wide credit risk-related projects. Support activities of RBI Risk Community development
- Best practice / know-how sharing related to credit strategies, policies and procedures
Your core competencies
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in risk/portfolio management, focusing on SME or consumer banking segments (multiple credit products) in a financial services setting
- Risk conscious, yet able to think in terms of general business management, beyond the specific credit risk focus, ability to grow and develop further in other areas of management
- Experience/knowledge of financial industry digital transformation practices (e.g. digital technologies and platforms used in banking/credit risk management – AI, machine learning, blockchain, etc.) and their application to improve credit risk management is a strong asset
- Proven history of using good planning and process management skills
- Willingness to travel from a Vienna base to all countries in the RBI network (SEE, CEE, CIS)
- Business level command of English.
Nice to have
- Past exposure to multi-market, multi-cultural environment is preferred
- Knowledge of an additional CEE language would be an asset.
- Ability to manage across multiple functional areas (e.g., product management, underwriting, rating/scoring, collections/workout) as well the ability to influence others at all levels

- Salary: the offered gross yearly salary begins at 60.000 Euro (basis full-time) including overtime, depending on qualification and experience.
