At La Bastide, we are committed to providing exceptional service, seasonal produce and a carefully curated imported and local wine list. Your role will be key to helping train, develop and lead our Front-of-House team so that they achieve service excellence and can confidently communicate with our customers.

An excellent understanding of French food, wine, culture and language is essential to this role. As is the ability to communicate this knowledge to our customers.

Duties

  • Leading the front-of-house team.
  • Assisting in the coordination of daily front-of-house restaurant operations.
  • Establishing a strong rapport and good working relationship with the back-of-house team.
  • Delivering superior service and maximising customer satisfaction to build strong relationships and a loyal customer base.
  • Assisting with rostering and supervising shifts.
  • Playing a key role in building and maintaining the restaurant’s brand and reputation.
  • Assisting with the implementation of a training program across service, food and wine.
  • Ensuring adherence to restaurant and regulatory policies and protocols.

Requirements and skills

  • 5 years + experience in hospitality.
  • Proven experience as a manager.
  • French language skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of French food and wines.
  • Strong leadership, motivational and people skills.
  • A commitment to service excellence.
  • Good knowledge of local and imported wines.
  • Strong food knowledge and an ability to communicate this understanding to customers and your team.
  • Familiarity with restaurant management software, including Bepoz and Now Book It.
  • Ability to work weekdays, nights and week-ends as part of a roster.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $60,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
